Dual Doctoral Degree Program

The Dual Doctoral Degree Program (DDDP) aims to develop academic and student exchange between two institutions whereby students who successfully complete the DDDP will be awarded two separate doctoral degrees for the one thesis with the certificates from each Institution clearly indicating the joint nature of the degrees.

Students will stay in AIT for 4 semesters (2 years) and continue the doctoral program at a partner institution (either @ IIT-Roorkee or IIT-Kanpur) for 3 semesters.

The thesis committee will comprise the Doctoral Degree Advisory Committee with Chairman from AIT, Co-Chairman from IIT, and two more members from either of the institutions. The student will do the 12 credits of course work in the first semester and defend the thesis proposal by the end of the second semester. Research work on the thesis will start subsequently.
